Martellus Bennett, tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, has apologized for naked photos that appeared on the Internet. The nude images of Bennett were reportedly posted by a disgruntled girlfriend who discovered he had cheated on her.
Bennett, 23, released the following statement: “These pictures were taken four years ago and placed on the Internet recently without my knowledge or consent. I understand that they are totally inappropriate. And for that I am sorry. I regret the embarrassment that it has caused the organization.”
Speaking of the Cowboy organization — they indicate that they plan to address the situation with their third-year player internally. It isn’t Bennett’s first run in with the team. He was fined $22k in January 2009 for an explicit rap song he posted on YouTube.
