Dhoni Engagement With Sakshi Singh Rawat

Indian cricket captain Dhoni got engaged to his childhood friend Sakshi Singh Rawat at a private function in a hotel in Dehradun with family members and close friends present. Marriage is likely to take place after India’s home series against Australia in October.
Engagement for Dhoni comes just four days before his 29th birthday. Among the cricketers present on the occasion were off spinner Harbhajan Singh and pacer Ashish Nehra. Dhoni currently enjoying a rare break with the next three-Test series against Sri Lanka scheduled to begin from July 18 at Galle. The engagement took place at Dehradun and was conducted at Hotel Competent Palace which is located on the Dehradun-Chakrata Road. The Ceremony was kept a secret from the media. Sakshi Rawat has completed her studies from Hotel Management at IHM, Aurangabad.

India Strike Bharat bandh on July 5

Major Opposition parties, including the Left and the BJP, have called for an all-India bandh on Monday against the rising prices. And it is adversely going to affect normal life in many cities.

Authorities prepared to take all security measures to ensure there was no untoward incident during the strike. However, essential services like milk, water and hospitals are exempt from participation in the bandh.

Public transport is likely to be hit in most places. Most schools, colleges and offices are likely to remain shut in many cities.

In New Delhi, people could face some hardships in reaching their destinations as the workers of Opposition parties, including the Left and BJP, plan to block traffic in several parts of the city.

The four Left parties - CPM, CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc - will organise a protest demonstration at the busy ITO Chowk, which connects east Delhi with the heart of the Capital.

The Left parties will be organising protests at nine places in New Delhi while there will be three demonstrations in Ghaziabad and one in Noida. Out of the total 13 demonstrations by the Left, three will be organised by CPM alone.

BJP will also organise protests across the city. Party president Nitin Gadkari and former BJP president Rajnath Singh will take part in the main protest at Chandni Chowk.

Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta, meanwhile, appealed to managements to keep their schools closed on Monday and requested parents not to send their children to schools.

In Mumbai, the authorities have put in elaborate security measures. The police have even made some preventive arrests and there is extra security for trains.

"Anyone who takes law into their hands and attempts to paralyse the city shall be dealt with strictly," warned Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjeev Dayal.

Also, adequate number of Railway policemen would be deployed at stations for smooth functioning of service, police said.

In West Bengal, there are reports that private airlines may not run operations during the day, that is, between 6 am and 6 pm.

In Rajasthan, markets will remain close on Monday to avoid any untoward incident. Also, the theatres will not screen films after 6 pm.

Andhra Pradesh state transport buses will not run on Monday to avoid vandalism.

Across the country, Opposition parties have called for a bandh on Monday against rising prices and the NDA is keen to get as many parties on board as possible. However, they have failed to put up a united front as both RJD chief Lalu Yadav and LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan have decided not to support the strike.

The participating parties are BJP, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, JD(U), CPM, CPI, Forward Block, RSP, AIADMK, PMK, MDMK, TDP, BJD, JD(S), AGP, Akali Dal and INLD.

In an attempt to make Monday's strike a success, the BJP has decided to send its senior leaders out to various state capitals to lead demonstrations and protest marches.

Gear up for 'Bharat bandh' on July 5

The issue of fuel price hike has brought almost the entire opposition together with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance and Left parties giving a call for a nation-wide strike on July 5 demanding a rollback.

All essential services like supply of water, milk, electricity, hospital and emergency services will be exempt from the 'hartal'.

The NDA and the Left parties made separate announcements in this regard and Janata Dal-United chief Sharad Yadav claimed that it was the first such instance of opposition unity after the "JP movement" in the mid-seventies.

Sources said the impact of the bandh is likely to be the worst in at least 10 states where the opposition was holding reins. The bandh is also expected to have total impact in states like Maharashtra, where Shiv Sena -- an ally of the BJP --has announced their support to the bandh.

MS Dhoni Marriage Today Live Stream

Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will tie the knot with childhood friend Sakshi Singh Rawat in a hush-hush ceremony at a farmhouse about 40km from Dehradun on Sunday night.

The marriage will be solemnised at 8 PM. The 28-year-old wicket-keeper batsman got engaged to Sakshi, a 23-year-old hotel management student, at a private ceremony on Saturday night.

The wedding is also expected to be a private affair with only very close family members and friends, including Dhoni's teammates Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra, among those attending.

BCCI bigwigs including President Shashank Manohar are also expected to attend the wedding.

Although family sources had indicated after the engagement that the marriage will take place in October, India's tight schedule in the next few months might have prompted the preponement.

Despite being a private ceremony, the wedding will have its share of glamour as Dhoni's Bollywood friend John Abraham is reportedly here to attend the marriage.

The couple is expected to host a reception in Mumbai on July 7, which also happens to be Dhoni's 29th birthday.
