KTVU will be streaming the funeral services for beloved Gospel music artist Walter Hawkins on today, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. PST. Bishop Kenneth Moales of Prayer Tabernacle Church of Love, Inc. in Bridgeport, CT will officiate at the ceremony.

I know there has been some confusion about the services streaming, but there is a statement on KTVU’s website stating that the funeral will be streaming live: KTVU.com will offer a live stream of the Walter Hawkins Memorial at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Just come to the KTVU.com home page and look for the live stream at the top of our video section. The live stream will run for the duration of the service.

The Gospel music tribute was not streamed live, but will instead be shown on Gospel Music Channel on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 8 pm ET. The musical celebration is titled, “The Man, The Music, The Ministry: A Musical Salute to Bishop Walter Hawkins”. Some of the biggest names in gospel music such as Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, and BeBe Winans will join together to celebrate the life and achievements of Bishop Walter Hawkins. The special tribute concert will follow Walter Hawkins Faith & Fame that is scheduled to air at 6 pm ET.

Gospel music legend Walter Hawkins passed away at the age of 61 on Sunday, July 11th at his home in Ripon, California after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
