While the police in Aurangabad were making Barrack number 16 in Harsul prison ready to lodge Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu and party legislators, Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena staged protests and shouted slogans against Naidu in Aurangabad today.




Around 100 activists of Shiv Sena at Mantha Phata, led by former MLA of Jalna and ex-minister Arjun Khotkar, protested and shouted slogans against Naidu.

The police struggled to control the mob. Naidu, who is detained by Maharashtra police for violating prohibitory orders in his bid to reach Babhli dam, is expected to reach Aurangabad this evening.

Police sources said that while Naidu was being shifted to the Harsul Jail in Aurangabad, the bus carrying him was passing through the Mantha naka area when Khotkar and his activists staged protest and sported black flags at Naidu.

Similarly, MNS activists also shouted slogans against Naidu and his legislators arrested along with him.

Tight security arrangements have been made to control the situation as the Sena and MNS leaders had warned of protests against Naidu, the former AP chief minister.

Harsul central jail superintendent Bharat Bhonsle told reporters that two barracks have been kept ready for Naidu and his associates and security had been beefed up.

Naidu and his TDP legislators were sent to Aurangabad this morning in an air-conditioned bus.
