So it is all square going into the break of this World Cup semi-final. Although Spain are playing a beautiful and sublime passing game they are failing to find the power to hit the back of the net.

Germany meanwhile are slowly coming to life as the game progresses – they have not enjoyed too much possession but are looking super dangerous on the break.

Hopefully someone can break the deadlock and bring this game to life in the second half.

45min – The game finally bursts to life just before the half time break as Mesut Ozil powers into the Spanish box – he is tackled and brought down by Sergio Ramos and looks to the ref for a penalty, but the ref waves for play to continue. Right decision from the official not give the pen, but perhaps should have been a free kick.

Torres replacement Pedro has been the most lively player on the pitch so far, but I still wouldn’t put it past the Liverpool man to come on as a late sub and find his feet.
